The second season of lavish period drama Hotel Portofino will premiere in February.
Natascha McElhone reprises her role as hotel owner and family matriarch, Bella Ainsworth. Mark Umbers plays her mannerly but dangerous well-bred husband, Cecil, and Lily Fraser will return as the hotel’s most famous guest singer-turned-movie star, Claudine Pascal.
Also returning for season two is Aussie Claude Scott-Mitchell who will reprise her role as hotel guest Rose Drummond-Ward.
Set on the Italian Riviera in the 1920s, Hotel Portofino tells the story of the Ainsworth family that has relocated to Italy to set up a quintessentially British hotel in the trappy town of Portofino. Amidst the rise of Fascism in Mussolini’s Italy, season two will see Ainsworth family relations reach breaking point and the future of the hotel threatened
Filmed on location in Croatia and Italy, season two was written by series creator Matt Baker (Suspect), directed by Adam Wimpenny (Blackwood), and executive produced by Jo McGrath and Walter Iuzzolino for Eagle Eye Drama in cooperation with the BetaFilm Group.
February 12 on FOX Showcase / Binge.
