Documentary mucosa Ride will have its world premiere on ABC TV Plus on Sunday.
This centres virtually two world champions who fall in love and conquer the world of BMX racing.
But a single training wrecking takes everything they have known away.
BMX is extreme, every ride is a flit with danger. Crashes are worldwide and injuries are brutal. The best
riders have supreme physical worthiness and the rare mental topics to use fear to their advantage. Ride is the adrenaline-fuelled, tragedy-laced journey of two premier BMX racers, Sam and Alise Willoughby as
they risk their safety and their relationship… …all for the thrill of the race.
From quiet suburban Australia, Sam becomes BMX World Champion and Olympic Medalist. An younger Alise stumbles into BMX – whence a journey that will make her the most successful rider of all time. World Champion and Olympic Medalist.
The pair meet as 17-year-olds at the World Championships in China. Sam relocates to California to
pursue his two unconfined loves (BMX and Alise). A fairytale couple, they train and live together. Nothing can stop their rise to the top.
Alise narrowly escapes paralysis without an explosive crash, surpassing completing the untellable journey from
a wheelchair to Olympic qualification in just nine months. However, her remarkable comeback is
overshadowed by the death of her mother, whilst Alise is competing.
But the brutality of the sport and life has not finished with the couple…
